A **University** is where citizens earn degrees and where a nation researches new technology. The number of Universities a nation owns decides how many research topics it can work on at once.

## Effects

### Research

* **One research slot per University.** A nation can research as many topics at once as it has Universities.
* Citizens contribute research points once a day. Their contribution depends on Intelligence, Health and Happiness.
* Research unlocks new options for the nation, such as the **Rule of Law** topic (needed for Courthouses and Prisons) and **Nuclear Fission** (needed for Nuclear Reactors).
* The President or the University's **Dean** chooses which topics to start, and can rename the University and appoint a new Dean (a citizen of level 3 or higher).

### Degrees

Citizens can study for degrees at a University in their nation. Each lesson takes one day, uses a book, and needs at least 50 Happiness.

| **Medicine** | 30      | 75                | Can work as a doctor and treat patients |

Engineering and Medicine lessons are taught by qualified Professors, who set their own fees.
