Game Rules
It is a condition of playing Virtual Nations that all citizens agree to adhere to the following game rules. Sordell Media reserves the right to modify these rules in any way as may be required, and may issue temporary or permanent bans for any actions deemed to damage the game.
1. Individuality
No individual player may create, control login to or possess more than one live citizen account at any time. This includes account sitting or assisted voting. Sordell Media employs a variety of methods to identify multi accounts, including IP addresses and temporary email accounts. All citizens registered to a temporary email provider will be banned immediately, until their owner can provide a valid email address.
Where more than one person wish to login from the same connection (for example, school networks or family members), all parties should contact team@vnations.net prior to any additional accounts being registered. Emails should include the shared IP, the name of the first registered citizen, and the nature of the shared connection, and must be sent from the persons intended email address. Shared connection accounts cannot trade with, work for, or vote for any of the citizens they share a connection with.
2. Fair Play
While freedom of expression is encouraged, all citizens are expected to abide by a basic level of fair play, so that all citizens may have equal chance to enjoy the game. Citizens who violate these terms may have penalties applied to their account, including permanent bans.
2.1 Bugs
All citizens are encouraged to report bugs they encounter via the helpdesk. At a minimum, it is expected that you will report any noticeable bug that has a beneficial effect on your citizen or its assets.
2.2 Exploits & Automation
It is expressly forbidden to exploit any bug, flaw or weakness in any part of the game to affect the standing (positively or negatively) of any citizen. It is also forbidden to utilize any sort of automated process, including auto-refresher, that interacts directly with the game's features.
2.3 Manipulation
No citizen shall compel any other citizen to perform any action with unfair force, including but not limited to: forged URL's to game features, out-of-game reward (including currencies of other games or actual money), or logging into another citizen's account. This also includes manipulation of game events by misuse of game mechanics, such as using dummy targets on the battlefield.
3. Acceptable Content
All user-submitted content is expected to be free from: Racism or other discrimination or insults, Pornography, excessive profanities, or accusations of violating these rules. Any content that contains any of the above may be removed at any time, and temporary or permanent bans may be issued to repeated or extreme offenders.
3.1 Advertising
It is against our Terms of Service to advertise any other websites without prior approval.
3.2 Spam
All user-submitted content is expected to be relevant to the community and in the context it is posted. Any content viewed as spam including requests to subscribe to media, forum posts with no content aimed at inflating post counts, or any other irrelevant post/topic may be removed at any time. Temporary bans may be issued to repeated spammers.
